Thank You E-Cards

Have you ever sent a gift to someone and wonder if they got it? The importance of a thank you e-card can be two-fold: 1. sending a thank you e-card lets someone know that you received something and 2. it let's someone know you were thinking of them and that you appreciate them. Thank you e-cards can be sent to thank people for their business, to thank an employee for their hard work or even to thank someone for returning your call and asking for follow-up information. Never underestimate the power of a thank you card and always send them as quickly as you can while it's still fresh in that person's mind.
  • Address the recipient with Mr. or Ms. if you do not have a personal relationship with the person. Otherwise, it is acceptable to use a standard greeting such as "Dear" to emphasize your personal relationship.

  • You may not want to be too formal but always be professional and courteous.

  • In most cases, keep the jokes to a minimum. Remember this is a business correspondence and without your personal smile someone may not get a written joke.

  • Give as many details as needed to personalize the e-card but be brief and to the point. For example: Thank you for buying our new XYZ product. In appreciation, we are offering 10% off your next purchase with us.

  • Be sure to emphasize the word "you" and under emphasize the word "I".

  • Mention the gift, service, or favor that you are writing the e-card about. Be sure to include how the gift, service, or favor has affected you specifically.

  • End the card with an informal closing, such as "best", "regards", or "sincerely".

  • Always check your spelling and grammar.

In a competitive marketplace, customer retention is a high priority and sending a thank you e-card is a great way to let customers know you appreciate their business and value them.
