It may be hard to express your sympathy in words when an employee, co-worker, or client suffers a loss. A simple, heart-felt e-card will tell them that they are in your thoughts.
- Choose the tone of the e-card. Only use an informal tone when it is someone you know very well.
- Be brief and to the point. Do not talk too much about the details of the loss.
- Acknowledge the loss right away so that the recipient understands
why you have sent the card.
- Offer support and assistance only in accordance
with your friendship and if you mean it.
- If the e-card concerns someone's death, focus on
the qualities and accomplishments of the deceased.
- Express sympathy for others that may also be involved in the event.
- Close the e-card in the same tone that you addressed the e-card. Give the recipient a way to contact
you.
- Always check your spelling and grammar.
