Online invitations are enable you to get an immediate response and have a consolidated guest list at your fingertips. It also avoids the voice mail phone tag or waiting for postal mail that accompanies the traditional RSVP method.
- The tone of your invitation should match the level of formality of the event.
- Include all of the details of the event in the e-card, even if the guests already know them. You should include the date, time, location, type of event, attire, etc.
- Be sure to add RSVP information to the card to allow guests to respond to you.
- Give an RSVP date so you can easily collect the attendance information to purchase enough supplies for the event. Always make sure there are extra places for people who show up unexpectedly.
- Send the e-card out at least three weeks before the event, and if necessary, send out another e-card as a reminder to the people who did not yet RSVP.
- Close the e-card with a simple "Hope to see you there" or something similar to let them know you would really like them to attend the event.
- Always check your spelling and grammar.
